How God-reliance works in relation to fear:
A God-reliant person tends to navigate life more successfully than a self-reliant person: fewer pain-causing events.
A God-reliant person values eternal things (which cannot be harmed by extraneous factors, like integrity) rather than temporal things (which can, like lawnmowers or reputation): same events, less pain.
A God-reliant person is accepting of what cannot be changed: same pain, but no resistance, so no pain about the pain.
